Our family stories.

I had grand hopes of keeping this blog up to date and I keep falling short of that goal. So here goes an update.

Gabby is now in second grade and getting so big. We did end up putting her in the neighborhood school and she is thriving there. She is still in Girl Scouts and learning new things every meeting. She also just started Basketball. Her second practice is this week with her first game on Saturday.

Cameron is now a big boy in Kindergarten. He is also going to the neighborhood school and doing wonderfully. He was disappointed that he has to wait for next year to start Cub Scouts, but we are working on learning his oath and law so that he is ready to go next year. He is playing Soccer and is on his 3rd season. He loves it so much. I think we are going to put him in some soccer classes in the off season.

Magnus is 3 years old now and still home with mommy where he belongs. He is having a little trouble adjusting to both his siblings being gone, but we are working through it. He enjoys being right next to me all the time now. He is getting to be very well spoken finally. We thought there for a while he might need therapy but he seems to be learning clear speech finally. He still has his moments where he gets lazy with his speech but those times are getting fewer.

I am still a stay at home mom, girl scout leader, and school volunteer. I also help out a friend with his youngest on the days that he needs to sleep after an all night shift. I still enjoy reading books. I am also lucky enough to get to spend time with my best friend Maegan each week. We are trying to make sure we have time together. It really helps us both to deal with everything in our lives.

Well on Thursday we went to Magic Mountain with Cameron’s new little friend Izabella and her Au Pair Simone, and then a little later Maegan and her little boy, Luke, came to join us.  We had lots of fun.  When Izabella had to leave Maegan’s Neices and Nephews came to play.  We had lots of fun running around and taking pictures of the kids.  They got to get a lot of excess energy out of their systems and be with other kids.  We also had Pizza at Magic Mountain as well.  So all in all a great day.  Here are some pics to check out.

Well on Thursday we went to the Franklin Park Conservatory. It was a blast. Thanks Grandma Susan for taking us and Thanks Aunt Barb for going with us. We had lots of fun. The kids got to take a trip around the world getting their passports stamped. They had to find different places like the Great Wall of China, The TajMaHal, the Spinx and Great Pyramid. It was lots of fun to look at all the flowers and plants and they even got to feed the big fish. I think it was a great day over all.

Then Yesterday we got to meet a new friend. I meet the mommy on a site Matchingmoms.com and we got together cause our kids were of similar age. Cameron has a new friend Izabella who is 2 months younger then him. She is such a cutie and he had lots of fun running around with her. Magnus also got a play mate her name is Elize and she is 2 days younger than Magnus. They were go cute. They tried to chew on each others fingers. We had an absolutely great day. I think I am off to Grandma’s today to visit with her and see if she needs anything done around the house. So I will let you all know how tomorrows play date goes at Magic Mountain.

Well Magnus is rolling all directions as well as being able to rotate on his tummy to change directions.  He is really kicking the floor hard to be able to move and I think will soon be crawling.  He can get on his knees but still has to work on getting his hands under him at the same time.  But he is quickly getting it.

Gabby and I are working on her reading skills and her writing these days as she has an interview next month at St Anthony.  So hopefully she will get accepted and then hopefully we can get enough in scholarships to make it affordable for her to go.  If not I am getting comfortable with the idea of sending her to the school we live in by address.  I am hearing it is one of the best schools in the Columbus District.

Cameron is just being Cameron these days.  He is really into playing and will lay or sit and play for hours with his toys.  He will even get up before everyone and you can find him playing with cars by himself.  It is so cute.

Well I guess that is all for now.  I am looking at lots of paperwork to fill out come February when I do taxes.  I have to not only fill out tax forms I have to fill out the Facts form for Gabby’s school and the fafsa form for Jon to hopefully be able to afford to go back to school.  Well I will keep you all posted.

Here in Columbus we have the ability to go in a lottery to get in a better performing school than the one we are assigned by address.  So I have started the work of trying to choose one that would fit well with my daughter.  I have 3 that I chose just by looking at the general emphasis of the school and I think I have my choices figured out in the order I plan to apply for them.  I will have to provide my own transportation for her but that is fine as I had no intention of allowing her on a bus for several years.  She is still to light to even be out of a car seat why would I put her on a bus with no seat belts even.  I hope we get in our first choice school.  If we get in our second choice she will be in uniform.  Wish us luck with getting her into a good school where she will gain a thirst for learning that will last her whole life.

Well it has been quite a while since I last posted here.  I wanted to try to bring it back in the new year.  So here we start.

September brought a new member to our family.  I gave birth to my third baby, Magnus Alan, on September 7.  He was born lovingly at home into water at 12:10pm.  He weighed in at an amazing 11 lbs even.  I was a little tired after wards but was very happy and content.  I finally got my home birth.  This has been an amazing acheivement and has left me feeling empowered that my body did what it was meant to do.  Magnus is a champion nurser and loves to eat.  He is also an excellent sleeper.

Cameron is awesome and fully potty trained at just over 2 years old.  He is also night trained now as well.  He is growing so much and loves being a big brother.  He is a little home body and just likes to be home more than anything.

Gabby is also growing like a weed and is learning to write and read.  She starts school this upcoming year.

We have decided that with 3 kids I need to find time to do something with just one child at a time every so often.  So we started that tonight.  Gabby and I went Ice Skating after we got both boys to bed.  Daddy stayed home to tend to them if they woke up.  Gabby is really good this was her first time and she was skating without holding onto the wall or my hand.  I was very proud of her.  I hope to get the pics that my friend took here soon so I can post those.

Jon and I also got to spend some alone time together today.  We took all three kids to his moms house and we went to go see I Am Legend.  That is one awesome movie.  I really liked it.  I cried, I laughed, I Was scared, I truly enjoyed this movie.

So all in all things are moving along quite nicely and we have adjusted well to being a family of five.  We have already had to move Magnus into a convertable seat cause he out grew his infant bucket by height at such a young age.  He was too tall.  His head was less than an inch from the top of the shell which is not safe.  He is now in Gabby’s old Britax Boulevard which she only used for a year.  We bought Gabby a new seat that is all Pink and Girly.  She loves it.  She got the Britax Regent which will keep her in a harness for many years to come.  It should easily fit her until she is ready for a booster.  It has 20 inch harness slots and fits to 80 lbs.  I know she will not fit in it by the time she is 80 lbs as she is such a thin rail.  LOL.

I hope to keep things going again.  So keep a look out.

Well today my dearest husband turned 25.  We got up early and had a little family time, then headed to my moms to celebrate his birthday.  We had lunch with my mom and youngest brother who is 7.  We also had cake and ice cream.  Then we headed to my Grandma’s to celebrate his birthday.  We had the kids outside playing and we all just hung around and chatted.  Jon decided to go out with his brother tonight so he left my Grandma’s before me and the kids.

The kids and I headed to the store to get some essentials and pick up something easy for dinner.  We had spaghettios for dinner.  I managed to get my kitchen cleaned up and get the kids baths and clean the toilet.  I also cleaned up my living room and put both kids to bed.  So all in all a busy day.  We had lots of fun.
